I enjoyed tree_and_leaf‘s And After Darkness, Light a lot, which really crosses two fandoms: Narnia and Anglo-Catholicism. The latter is not a community I’m actually involved in, but I have family and friends who have been deeply involved as ministers and lay leaders, one of whom died this year, and so it reminds me of a lot of people I have affection for.

That fic was completely amazing. After reading it, I spent a good bit of yesterday evening doing some much needed zoning out following links to fics with religious themes! Somehow even in fandoms the source material of which I’ve never encountered! So I have to go on a trip to the video store now. And probably reread Narnia. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this, but I only realised that the Narnia books had Christianity weaved through them on my second reading of The Last Battle?

It’s beautiful isn’t it? As well as my family, the fic reminds me a lot of a friend I need to get back in touch with.
I don’t think you and I have talked about Narnia at all, and if you’ve mentioned it in your blog I have shamefully forgotten. I think my mother explained to me that Narnia had Christian themes and allegories, but I think I didn’t believe her until I read The Last Battle!
